girl obsessed polish review

i tryed a bottle of sock monkey from a friend of mine name tami. she sent me the little bottle of sock monkey from the company name girl obsessed. it was am mini bottle. but when i saw this i was in awwww. The polish is a white base, black circle glitters, red and brown hex glitters. this polish is amazing. when i put it in i feel in love with it the application was great no looking for glitters. great consistency. over all i loved the experience i had with this product.

today we i did sally hensen fuzzy coat nail polish, i found the application to be harder then i liked, the formula was very thin. the colors are extremely pretty, i put top coat on them to protects them

I ordered spring equinox its a mauve gellie base with hex glitters in it, the glitters are silver, gold and tiny green ones, the application was great for this polish, i dident search for glitters, and they applyed to the nail great from the bruch, the drying time was good. i love this color, it great

the 1st one is summer brights in light teal green the 2nd is sinful volcanic is a very shimmery purple color the 3rd one is sinful colors my boyfriend a flat blue /purple color the 4th one is sally hansen fuzzy fantasy, this a line glitter polish, in light green and white the 5th one is is also a sally hensen fuzzy coat polish in fuzz-sea. this is a line glitter in blue and yellow the 6th one a new fergie polish in ferguson crest syrah this is a dark shimmer brown/purple color the 7th one is sinful colors bottom of the ocean this is a mattalic blue nail polish

this is kleancolor in neon yellow, the application was a little thick.

making texture nail polish

So i have wanted to make textured nail polish for awhile now. so i got the supply's together. nail base glitter fine course sand pigment i added all these things together and came out with textured polish but not really what i wanted. the trexture would come out either too rough or it would come out to look texture but not feel textured. so for right now this is the start of a new adventure for me in the polish world. as iam going to figure out how to make this happen but i wanted to share the first try with all my blog friends. i hope you enjoy the project and i will post up dates

whats different about indie polish and other polishes

people keep asking me whats the so different between indie polish and normal nail polish? of course my first thought is wow you don't know ? but then i open my mouth. lol ,omg they are different for so many reasons. lets start with the base. the base of a normal polish will not hold glitters in it, the glitters will sink to the bottom. it so sad when you buy a clear bottle of nail polish and think "ill add glitters to this and it will look amazing"!!! but you add the glitter and all that happens is the glitter change the polish color (this is called bleeding) and the glitters sink to the bottom of the bottle. the great thought that you had about making the most amazing polish ever is just not what you wanted. it looks like a glitter mess right now. if you buy polish suspension base. the idea of the nail polish you want will look great. the glitters will be suspend in the base. they will not sink, i believe the suspension base is much thicker and this is this is why it hold the glitters. when a base holds glitters it makes it much easier to apply to the nail. when it dose not hold the glitters they will sink and get stuck to the bottom of the jar making almost impossible to gather and apply the glitters to the nail. so this is one of the resons indie polish is so diffrent. the other thing that makes indie polish very different that pigments / mica are added to make the color of the polish. mica/pigments come in all kindso f colors and glow in the dark and change color. in normal nail polish the pigments are added at a high level were indie polishes pigment is added in small amounts to get the right color. from shimmer to dark black to gellies and more. so making your own nail polish can be a lot of fun and you can make any color you want, or you can look in to some indie companys, etsy is a great place to look for polish, http://www.etsy.com/ or take a look at my store (also on etsy) http://www.etsy.com/shop/pinkeynails?ref=si_shop but what ever you do have fun with polish. make it you.

sinful colors gel tech polish

i picked up 8 of the new sinful color gel tech nail polish's last week, iam finally writing this blog. I was wondering what made these nail polishes so diffident and what made them so great. I could see all the woman talking about how wonderful this product is. so i tried one purple polish from the original sinful line and then one purple polish from the gel tech line. so i waited a week and painted my nails with both polishes ( sinful original and sinful gel tech) so the gel tech for the first few days was shiny with its wonderfulness, but as i got in to my normal every day washing dishes, vacuuming and taking care of the kids, its shine went away and looked more like the other hand. several days after that (i would say maybe 3 days) the polish on both hands started to chip, the non gel tech defiantly chipped a lot more then the gel tech polish. but it did not last 2 weeks. I did try to further look in to what gel tech was. sadly there is not much information out there in this. gel manicures are much different then this nail polish. the gel from a gel manicure looks and feels more like a layer of plastic over the nail, the sinful gel tech felt more like there was some of that gel in it but not enough. it had the shine for a few days but nothing like the original gel mani. so i do like this product, I found that it would be wonderful for the young lady's who like to paint there nails and don't like to go to the salon, or sit for 45 min to get a gel manicure. (much like myself) but if your looking for that gel like manicure this is not the product for you.

A little bit about me,

Hello, so i wanted to write a little about my self in this blog. well my name is sara i have loved nail polish since i was a child around the age of 4. My grandmother hook would buy me these little kits called tinker bell nail kits, I would sit behind her table on the old heater in her home and paint my nails. lol what a mess, but i always thought they looked pretty with my Tinkerbell polish. so as i grew older fell in love with polish, i went to school at smith vocational high school and then i went to frankelen tech high school to learn about hair and nails. i graduated in 1998 with a cosmetology degree. i then worked in a few salons as a hair dress, but deep down in side i really wanted to be a nail tech. but i wasn't able to do that due to the fact i choose to have 3 children. and let me tell you children area hand full, from doctors appointments to meeting new teachers each year. last year i found out my youngest child has asperger syndrome. this was not a shock to us at all. from the start she was different. SO she is now 8 and my oldest is now 13. all of them are doing well. all have good grades in school, they love there step father. we will be getting married on the 25th of may 2013. all the girls are part of the wedding and very happy to take part in the ceremony. any way, a few months back i looked at my life and realized i ha dent done anything for myself in years, i mean i got the normal clothing and the once in a a while polish. but in the aspect of something i liked to do i dident have that, not really any way. for hours i would play on my pc in a fake world to get away. so i ran across another mother writing blogs. and that's when it hit me, this is what i should do for myself. but then i got looking around in the little world of nail polish and realized i could make my own. so i ordered everything to do that and opened my little shop on etsy (pinkey nails). then i opend my face book page (pinkey nails by sara). so i made my first batch of polish. and then my second, not many buyers for it but i love making it. i love to watch the glitter and the base go into each bottle. knowing that at some point some one other then me will wear this and make them look amazing. i have worn all my polishes at least once. and then i sent a few out to other bloggers as well. such as http://polisheddreamsandlifethings.blogspot.com/ polished dreams and life things and http://breezythenailpolishlover.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2013-04-19T08:25:00-07:00&max-results=3 brezzy the nail polish lover. both giving me great reviews. so iam started on my 3rd set of polish soon. its amazing feeling when you see something you made on someone else. so i know i wont ever stop making my own polish. I love it way to much, i love the look on peoples faces when you hear them say were did you get that, and i say made it. and hand them my card, its a great feeling. when i saw the pictures from the blog reviews i felt like i made a diffrance in the world. i don't know how i have done this yet, but i i know some day it will make a big diffrance in the world, but for now its a diffrance in my life to know iam doing something i love.

so i was feeling so sick last night, but i went out in the world any way, so sitting on a counter at wallgreens was one bottle of the new sinfull gel polish. i had to get to get it, but then my fav counter girl came up to me and told me we have more out back let me get then for you, so she brings out the box and i got to pic threw all the colors, i ended up picking up 4 fthem, so got a few colors, but applied the yellow first, i did not like it at all as you can see its , still on some of my my nail lol how ever i did apply the light pink after, and a the application went on smooth, and drying time was fast, so i think i was not applying it right when i first put on the yellow. for now this is the blog i will post but i will come came back to these polishes, due to the simple fact iam not feelng well and i dont think i gave them a fair chance.

with summer just around the corner, i was looking at all the bright colors, so i had some kleancolor sitting on the shelf. so i painted my nails. kleancolor is a small company out of California, they have over 256 different colored polish, each bottle runs any were from 1.00 to 4.00. The one i have on today is neon yellow. the yellow is a very bright and highly pigment color, the consistence of the polish was very thick, it took 2 coats to cover the nail fully. the aplication was very simple. i love the color. here is a pic

nail it magazine

so i got a subscription to nail it magazine. IT wasn't to long maybe a 2 to 3 weeks before my first issue came. so my hubby came from the mail box with magazine in hand, then said your book came honey. i took it from him as if it was gold. i walked over to the sofa and sat down and opened the magazine to the first few pages, looking at the nail art and the new polish coming out. there are many many new polishes coming out and i think ever company put an ad in this magazine. lol ant whoo, opening the rest of the magazine i looked at article such as a guy and his polish, simple solutions fora dozen nail snags,or what is 3- free. there is an article all on the aisle style, brides every were and in this mag too, lol as many of you know iam going to be a bride in may, so this section made me scream with joy. but any way way over all i loved this magazine and i cant Waite till the next issue

this is the crayola color set, this item is sold at rite aid, in a pack of 5 colors red shimmer (name: bubble gum) green shimmer (name: green apple) blue shimmer ( name: blue berry) purple shimmer (name:grape raisin )orange shimmer (name:orange) i out 2 coats of polish on each nail and it covered well. the package states these are smelly nail Polish once dry, however i don't smell anything at all. these polishes come in 6ml bottles. the brush to them is is a finer brush then expected. the polish its self is very liquidity, making application a little hard. ( i personally like a little thinker liquid) the colors are pretty vibrant, and iam sure they would be great for any young girl just learning to polish.

so my oldest daughter has never liked nail polish or nail art at all, me on the other hand well, i loved it since i was a child, any way. my daughter and her step mom when out and got there nails done. my daughter now keeps asking me to do her nails, and is so excited about the nail art world, i don't think she has realized that nail polish in its self is part of that. lol so i did her nails last week and we did a little zombie guy giving a little dead girl his heart and this week we did 21 jump street nails. she is really enjoying this and i love seeing her smile. she loves looking at pictures for me to put in her nails. lol so any way iam going to show you the 2 i have done so far on her nails so i hope you all enjoy the new photos and have a wounderful day

Revlon the Pacific Coast Collection by Gucci Westman the other day as i was walking down the isle in cvs i found a jelly polish by revlon. i wanted to so badly but had to wait for a little cash, iam sure you all know that feeling, so tonight i finally got it. the color is 095 sunburst revlon color stay long wear nail enamel. i believe it has come out for spring. so when i got home it was the first thing i did. i ran over and started putting it on, omg i love it. this polish is creamy and sheer, with one coat it it see threw, but 2 coats its just a other awsome jelly in orange. this polish dried very fast. i had no problume with the application. and the orange is stunning there are other polishes in this collection Revlon Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel Shades: Seashell Tradewinds Jungle Sunburst but nothing like the orange. here are the pics i took of it on my fingers

blue girls just want to have fun nail polish by pinkey nails

so i have wanted to write this for some time. i had started making my own nail polish. i have my own line now called pinkey nails. I have made about 20 different colors, I like to experiment with mica, pigment and glitters. i have made glitter polish, jelly polish, holographic polish and even glitter top coats. its a lot of fun. it can become little over whelming. trying to keep up with the new styles and the new glitter coming out, and then still blogging and doing my nails on top of the every day house wife stuff. with 4 kids home every thing can become complicated. but out of all the polish i have made girls just want to have fun is probably my favorite. its a holographic glitter polish. it took 2 coats to insure that i got the holo to show, but i added blue stars and all kinds of fun glitters to this polish to make it something special. this polish could be a great birthday gift to a young girl or to the woman just starting to do nail art. but its vibrant blue color and glitters make this polish a smashing beauty on any one's nails. as i said its just a fun loving color. i hope you all like it and give me feed back

as a indie polish maker in a small town, it's quite here and peaceful, with the exception of the children running around. I have learned so much from so many other people on the on the internet, from new friendships to learning to make my own polish. i love meeting new people, making new friends. making my own polish has brought me out of the dark in to a new light. it has brought meaning to my life. when i see a new order come in on my etsy store. i think to myself, woot woot another woman painting her nails with my polish. she is going to look fabulous. I know its not just my polish i feel this way about. I have seen so many other indie polish and thought omg i love it, it would look so great on my nails. and of course i order it. lol i think indie polish has truly a diffident touch when woman see it, why? well indie polish being hand mixed is like homemade soup our moms made. its the little touch of love in each bottle. the thoughts that go in to each mix. the idea that it comes from, indie polish is truly a heart felt item, and each bottle is different to each woman. I love Edger Allen Poe, so my first few bottles of polish were named after some of his writings, such as a tell tail heart, or Lenore. and i had one thought be hind it, emotional connection in each bottle, when i think of the bottle of Lenore i feel sadness and still feel love, when i think of the bottle the raven (a purple polish with white diamonds glitter and holographic silver glitters) I think of a dark night, when sitting alone, and i hear the noise of whats beyond my window. chilling. but when i look at other indie polishes i have some of the same feelings, such as the autism awareness polish by Different Dimension. I think of my daughter who struggles , I think of the children in the world that have to struggle each day. The one thing i want to do is just wear that polish to show support for this cause. some times i talk to other woman and see how nail polish has helped them.some woman instead of that one smoke they buy a polish. and save there lungs and apart of there life. smoking is a bad habit and we all know how harmful it can be to our body, but painting out nails we keep our fingers occupied, and this helps pass the time when we have a craving. so painting our nails as woman can be helpful to our daily life, i know i love to paint my nails and feel pretty when i just need to rest, take time out for me. stop and relax for 5 min. nail polish does this for me. if i can make nail polish and make other woman feel what i feel Iam glad to be making it. iam glad to help another person feel good about them self.

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pinkey-nails-by-sara/219841554811199 https://www.etsy.com/your/listings?ref=si_your_shop So today i tryed the jamberry nails, wow they are really neat. i did them on my daughter who is 13. she loved the samples that were sent. so I sat down with her and we did nail her nails with the jamberry nail wraps. i started by buffing her nails, next step was clean with rubbing alcohol, cut sample in half, press wrap on nails, (don't allow the wrap to touch the skin or cuticle. this will cause lifting)apply heat from a hair dryer for 10sec, then smooth over nail with rubber cuticle pusher, cut off excess and file downward motion. after doing all the steps. my daughter loved her nails. she has had them on for the last 3 days, with no chipping, no peeling, and best of all she is not biting her nails. her hands look great. the cute poke a dots and stripes on her fingers look amazing. she has had so many compliments on her nails. asking were she got her nails done, they look great. so my over all experiance with jamberry nails was amazing, they went on simple, no mess, no smudging, super fast application and they looked great, what more can you ask for if you would like to try jumberry nail wraps here is the link to on facebook https://www.facebook.com/FantasticFunNailsbyHeather?ref=ts&fref=ts
